Speaking from experience, it's difficult. You either have to not talk about your political beliefs at all, or find some way of discussing real hot-button issues without anger.

In my case, we fought continually about such topics for a couple of years, then stopped talking for 4 more...didn't work out so well. If you are a moderate conservative, and she is a moderate liberal, you have a better chance than people who are farther right or left, but in truth, the things that make us conservative or liberal tend to be rooted deep in our personalities and values. They are fundamental differences. You would probably do well to explore those issues up front, before you get deeply involved, and both of you get hurt.

We already know that a liberal guy and a conservative lady can have a good relationship. Consider liberal Democratic strategist James Carville (a Clinton man) and conservative Republican strategist Mary Matalin (a Bush woman) They have quite a happy marriage and yet both are big-league hitters in their respective parties. They do say opposites attract.

Depends on their level of civility. Some people are perfectly capable of holding opposing view points without it effecting their relationship. Other people can't stand to be associated with someone that would think anything different than themselves.

Not sure. Are you saying that conservative men are "con men"? If so, then wouldn't he just be looking out for himself and using the lady as a mark.

both these characters are not known as violent so I think they wont assault, but ya conman may use the liberal lady for his schemes and thus she may get herself caught in the wrong side of law.
