You can set following encryption keys to protect your wireless network and prevent unauthorized access:

1) WEP
2) WPA
3) WPA2

I would recommend you to use WPA2 since it's very secure. Try to avoid from using WEP because it's been cracked. Of course your wireless router/AP and wireless adapter must be able to support the encryption type you choose.

Go into your router and you can set:

1) Encryption (WEP, WPA)
2) MAC Filtering
3) Do not broadcast your SSID

Is the router on the spot? no matter if that's, you want to set encryption in the router. (If no longer you should purchase a on the spot router or a on the spot get entry to point.) in case you submit the make and sort type of your router, someone provides you with extra exact practise.
