The world, Augustine claimed, was made "not in time, but simultaneously with time." In other words, the origin of the universe-what we now call the big bang-was not simply the sudden appearance of matter in an eternally preexisting void, but the coming into being of time itself. Time began with the cosmic origin. There was no "before," no endless ocean of time for a god, or a physical process, to wear itself out in infinite preparation.
Remarkably, modern science has arrived at more or less the same conclusion as Augustine, based on what we now know about the nature of space, time, and gravitation. It was Albert Einstein who taught us that time and space are not merely an immutable arena in which the great cosmic drama is acted out, but are part of the cast-part of the physical universe. As physical entities, time and space can change- suffer distortions-as a result of gravitational processes. Gravitational theory predicts that under the extreme conditions that prevailed in the early universe, space and time may have been so distorted that there existed a boundary, or "singularity," at which the distortion of space-time was infinite, and therefore through which space and time cannot have continued. Thus, physics predicts that time was indeed bounded in the past as Augustine claimed. It did not stretch back for all eternity.

Technically the Big Bang didn't create space and time... something created the Big Bang and space and time (at the same time!). What was before that? Since time didn't exist, timelessness existed. Some people believe that through meditation you can actually experience that state of timelessness, and the brain isn't really used in meditation, it's temporarily transcended.

We possibly created the Big Bang. Well not us exactly Men with the technology to do it.
Man +Technology = Big Bang = (millions of years) Man +Technoilogy = Big Bang.etc...
It is cyclical.
We shouldn't be asking who created the universe, we should be asking who created creatures capable of creating universes.
We will definatly be able to create a big bang in 200, 1000, 50,000 years.
When we can - then we must accept that men like us, created us.....at the point of their imminent destruction (after they realised they themselves were created by man), or by accident etc.
My Hillbilly2 theory.
The evivdence is the growth of human technology, and the worry that we can do this now, by accident - in experiments.

you realize Kelsey, you in simple terms asked a question that to this very day, no person will ever be waiting to be certain. in case you're religious, we are going to would desire to declare God became into earlier. in case you're actually not religious we are going to say that there became into not something earlier that little dot, in simple terms not something! No temperature, no gentle, no shade, no life, no time, not even a measurement. If technology tells us there are 11 common dimensions interior the present universe, i assume all of them got here from a dot the place no dimensions existed and therefor no regulations utilized and something became into accessible. not something became into there... different than physics. sure, I suggested physics. Supposedly the guidelines of physics is what brought about each and everything after the vast bang to transpire. Who made the guidelines of physics, nonetheless? even nonetheless, it rather is all contradictory rules of physics states: An merchandise at relax will stay at relax until eventually effected by potential of yet another merchandise. That little dot would desire to not basically unexpectedly commence spinning on it rather is very own. i understand! God would desire to have placed the dot there and touched it, inflicting it to spin... i assume i will would desire to offer slightly faith on faith, a minimum of they supply an answer: God is, continually became into and continually would be. by potential of eliminating a initiating and an end there is not any center. yet this basically begs the question, "What became into earlier God?" So no count in case you have self assurance in God or slightly dot, the question keeps to be unanswered. I supply up... it would not make sense the two.

Big bang did not create space & time - rather the material of the universe cycled thru an implosion / explosion.
The big bang was the last explosion.

no one knows what existed before big bang... they say all laws of physics vanish at this point (same for the interior of black holes). before the bigbang the whole universe was one hot dense mass.... the explosion or the big bang of this mass is what is responsible for the evolution and expansion of the universe..... i might not be right; you can get the best out of books read: Carl Sagal's "COSMOS" and SIMON SING'S (i hope i got the name right)-"BIG BANG".

Well, if you're getting philosophycal we have to start with the question "what do you call 'space' and 'time'?" because scientists say there was no "before" because there was no time.
