You can start on the internet it's really simple. Just google the word "sociology." You don't have to worry about "explaining" the subject of sociology especially if you are not an instructor.

In short, it's the study of our world and how we interact with one another in this world.

Very simply put, psychology deals with the way the mind works, on an individual level. Sociology deals with group dynamics, trends, etc.

i know where ya comin from. i'm a sociology major and the only thing people on outside think only of social work. i try to explain what it is and what i'm studying(religion and society) they seem confused. so i just simply say yea social work now for the sake of explaining what it is!
