I've heard that they will do so, in Star Magazine. What's your opinion on this?

well i think that models that are too skinny shouldnt be banned becasue there are people out there who physically cannot gain weight no matter how much they try and how much they eat. And the people who are too skinny probabally don't have a problem with it. I think that they should just get other models who are a little bit bigger and yeah take some of the skinnier models away. That way the people who are thin get to see models who are also thin and no one has to say anything about models who are too thin.

You cant do your job when you look like you are frail enough to break if you stumble.
There is a difference between being thin and healthy and being unhealth-ily thin, and thats what so many of the runway models have become. You can see every bone in their chest, in their back. They look like they could break at any moment.
Its unfortunate that it comes to that, but for some reason, people (designers, Vogue-esque people) think that women that resemble wire hangers are perfect for draping their ugly creations over.
If i were a designer (which im definitely not nor ever have wanted to be), id have all body types going down the runway....naturally thin, normal, curvy, muscular, pear shaped, apple shaped....whatever. Give something for everyone womanly shape out there.

Well, although I don't know if they should ban it or not, I totally understand the reasoning behind it. However, I personally don't think it's going to stop eating disorders in any way. That would be liking banning beer comercials. There are still going to be alcoholics regardless.

This is an attention getting ploy by the fashion industry, and some other idle crap for the entertainment media to rag on about. In two months, things will be back to business as usual, with skeletons on the runways.

SHOULD they ban them? If they can't perform their jobs because of constant throwing up and taking laxatives and being lightheaded from not eating, then yes. Simple failure to perform what they are paid to do. Otherwise, it's a matter of subjective taste, and endless debate, like "Should all movie stars be handsome/beautiful?"

well, if designers are happy with them being skinny.....i think it's all upto them.....i'm not skinny but i think if a runway model looks too ordinary (body type) they won't be so interesting to look at anymore...they won't be so special. I think they're called fashion models because they don't look like you and me

I say yes because the clothes that they are modeling only look good if you are that skinny... and to be honest with you i dont know anyone who is actually that skinny... the average size girls have meat on their body and are not just skin and bones..

yes, as it doesn't show the reality of what an average person looks like, whos gonna wear sommat that was made for size zero models. this is the real world an we all don't look like that. it worries me as well is that why do these models want to be super skinny? hmmmm

Not if some of these girls are naturally this thin. It's not fair to them. For those starving themselves, yes they should. I'm no where near their body types but realistically I know of people who are just as miserable trying to put on weight. So I say it depends.

They have been banned in Milan and other parts of the world - their BMI has to be at a healthy level.

I think it is a good thing as some of them are way too thin (and really unattractive!) but designers want coat hangers, not women modelling their clothes so I think it will be a while before it happens here.
