Yea, beacuae the last two teams that fired Showalter have won the World Series the next year(96 Yankees, 2001 D'Backs)

Good move for the Rangers. They have a decent team and need a better manager to take them to the next level. And as a Cubs fan: NO. We do not want Showalter. We want Girardi!

The last two teams to either fire or have Buck Showalter leave, Yankees in '96 and the D-backs in 2001, have won the World Series the next year; so this is probably a good move.

It was a good move since everyone just stopped playing hard for him and Buck hardly ever showed any emotion in the dugout(think he could be dead). I don't think rangers win ws next year that's just a stupid coincidence, the only reason it happened was that Buck developed the young teams well until he could no longer help them reach the next level. As far as who to hire I have no idea, but I heard the players really like Eric Young so he better retire and manage.

I live in Texas, I'm a transplanted Cardinals fan, but yes it was time for a change. The real root of the problem is Tom Hicks and everyone he hires just wants hitters. You cant win if you score 8 runs, because the Rangers will give up 10. The fact is no one goes and watches there games even when there in contention. There just a terrible team.

I think it was a good move. Things need to be shaken up a bit. Hopefully a fresh coach will get the Rangers headed in the right direction, instead of on the golf course in early October.

I dunno. I think after a bunch of loseing seasons and still not getting anywhere it was a good move for the ball club. (PICK UP GIRARDI!!!) Dude has been a great manager. I am sure the cubbies will pick up Showalter
