In my personal view men can be just as sweet-natured and affectionate as women are known to be. People say that women, before they think about sex, like to engage in sweet-natured activities such as holding hands and enjoying a romantic dinner. Men certainly can be as sweet in this regard. For example, I know of many guys who would like to go through the emotional games of teasing and arousing their girls. Also, it is generally accepted that when someone is in love, they tend be more reflective and cultured. So I think this "reputation" of men being sex-hungry and violent is nothing more than a myth. What does everyone else think?

I'm in agreement Keanu...I also think it depends on the maturity level of the people involved. A good partner reaps great rewards from pleasing thier mate.

It is a matter of statistics, there are more men than women who want sex without love (that is why in prostitution mostly the men pay for this, and women do it to get money or under force - i.e very often for men sex without love is pleasure and for many women it is a work or burden) and men are more often violent than women, you can see this in criminal statistics. It doesn't mean that every man and no woman is that way. I know there are women who go into sexual relations with men without any feelings and just look for someone who is "good in bed" and there are men who know what is love. And I don't think that the majority of men are bad. After all I also love a man and he is not at all like that negative picture of men :-)

I agree that individual traits aren't always in line with the socially accepted view of gender traits. I personally don't think that men are 'sex-hungry and violent', so much as 'if it's available, I'll take it'. As women, we honestly could have sex 24/7. If we said yes everytime a random guy wanted to have sex with us, we wouldn't have time to sleep. While many guys will take sex if its offered to them. Not all of course, but I've yet to meet a guy who said 'Actually, no I don't want to have sex. Let's get to know each other first'.
