If you are talking about grout in a normal grout line... there is a great little tool called a grout saw. It's small, with a 1 1/2 to 2" long blade. Here is an example: http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=17240&stc=1

grout or caulking around the rim? either one will take a sharp tool found at any hardware/commercial home center. it is best to get the tool, as it is made for the job, & will save a lot of wear & tear on your hands..use an old paint brush to remove "bits". do yourself a favor & put a liner in the tub/sink you are working on to catch bits. "blue tape" & thin plastic will save you tons of time on clean up.

do no longer scrape it or you may scratch the the teeth or the tiles. you may get silicone eater or silicone remover. i could do mail order from toolstation or screwfix as you will choose some new stuff as quickly as you have bumped off the previous. some million/2 the fee of the extreme highway diy shops nonetheless you pay transport except you order £40 of stuff. I never seem to have a difficulty with that!

Do you mean caulking? if so, use a flexible 1-1/2 " putty knife and cut horizontally around the tub under the caulking, then do the same vertically. Be carefull not to scratch the tub, especially if its fiberglass.

Remove it requires not much but elbow grease. A small chisel or even a flathead screwdriver may help.
