Yes, it is because we are used to hearing ourselves through our own skulls, which changes the accoustics, and our brains/ears don't register the same tonal qualities when our voice is heard externally.

Because of how your voice is recorded, and because the message on the speaker is an electronic copy of your voice, not your actual voice. Also, your voice sounds different to you because you hear it differently because your vocal cords are vibrating and those vibrations travel through your head as well as the sound waves traveling through the air to your ears. When you hear the recording, it sounds different because you aren't speaking at the same time.

I know what you mean. I think my speaking voice is fairly pleasant until I hear it recorded. The quality of the recorder does make some difference in how accurately the voice is recorded. It sounds different to us because we hear our own voices from inside our heads.

Hi yes its because your not use to listening to your self. Everyone things they sound different than they do bacause they dont hear themselves talk. People say it sounds like you because they are with you all the time and know the sound of your voice. It doesnt sound awful to anyone else only yourself, but to everyone else its the way your voice is.

From my personal experience, I kind of denying the fact that my voice sounded that way. In fact most people said it is the usual voice they heard all this while.

I believe the human mind thought our own voice is unique to our own ears but refuse to accept that the actual voice frequency that sounded to others are as such.

When you speak you hear your own voice within your inner
ear, therefore it is a physical sound of your voice from within.
Your recorded voice is an electronically reproduction heard
from outside your body and heard through outer ear.

You voice sounds diverse to you by using diverse paths that the sound travels. Others listen in worry-free words the sound waves that commute with the help of the air. a similar is authentic for recordings. You listen a blend of those waves AND the sound it really is performed with the help of the bones of your face and cranium. Because of the retro reflective reproduction system used in most recording devices. They tend to make you sound more nasal with a higher pitch to your recorded voice. Only very expensive recording machines can reproduce exactly what you sound like.

Yes, I know what you mean!! I think we really sound different to others rather than the same to ourselves. Maybe it has to do with ear sounds. Not sure, but it keeps life interesting!!!

the way you hear yourself speak is different than the way others hear it from the outside. your recorded voice lets you know what others hear.
