I`m sorry my dear but there is no easy way or a best way. It will be a blow to the other person regardless of a love tap or a base ball bat. That sounds awefully crude I know. But it is so true. Often times instead of trying to soften the blow by being overly cautious which can come across as oh she still cares so I should hold on. Sometimes it`s better to bite the bullet and just have a one on one and speak exactly what is on your heart and mind. If it is not up for debate then refuse to go there when he or she tries. State your case and let them see you are steadfast and unmoved, if indeed you are! This way there can not be any doubt in their mind as to the door being open atlittle or not at all. And you may be able to move on.
Hugs
Jim

It's a already a given fact that you'll hurt the other person-- sometimes the truth really hurts. But I opt to have the truth than live my life a lie.
Choose to think that something good will come out of it. It may not seem to be the best place to be in right now, but maybe in the future, it turns out that both of you made the right decisions.
Just also keep yourself open - she / he may be your true love.

This might sound bad, but lying is the easiest way to do it. Not a huge lie, but telling them, that you don't feel like you can handle a relationship, or the classic line "it's not you, it's me" works really well. It gets you out of the relatioship and the other person doesn't feel so bad. Good luck!

Just sit them down, and tell them. Be completely honest and straight to the point playing games is usually what hurts most.

"I think you are a wonderful person, and I have enjoyed the time we've spent together, but it's now time for both of us to move on with our lives. I hope we can at least remain friends, because I truly would value that friendship; otherwise, it too will have to end."

You have to be truthful. You can say I think you are a wonderful person but I do not feel that way about you. They will be hurt but it is better than dangling them.

there is never a good way to do that! my advice is to be honest. maybe this person will admire your honesty , or maybe they will hate you for it.but at least you will be at peace with yourself knowing you did the right thing.
