graph is ploted on axis.... ie x,y,z

while a diagram needs no such references.

I guess that Electronics would show some good examples. Graphs are usually drawn to show amounts of something or other per unit time, whereas a Diagram would be an indication of Structrue.

Example: The floor plan of a building would show the layout. That would be a diagram

A graph may be made showing the monthly cost of building the building. It would vary with time.

Graphs are to show one thing (Temperature) vs another (time of the day). While Diagrams can show how everything is set in a paticular application, like wiring diagram (electronic) or Flow chart diagram (Computer).
