With your name, I just have to say Zizou, and I am a valid candidate for the best answer.
However, just look at what happened with Materazzi: They both (Zidane and Materazzi) acted like two idiot kindergarden spoiled brats. Never mind they make million of dollars and they should be an example for million of viewers and fans all over the world! Basically they were both worng. Unfortunately I have changed a little bit my respect for Zidane as a person, and as a person only.
As far as players, Zidane is a legend (even with his last game incident), while Cannavaro is definitely very good, he will never be as great as Zizou. Players like Zidane are only a few in a generation. It's a shame he is also a hard headed brat. You have to be objective in life. Give respect where respect is due, but be also able to see someone's faults!!!!!

Zidane plays midfield and makes plays to help create scoring chances whereas Cannavaro is a defender and prevents people from getting scoring chances, and they are both exceptional at what they do.
