I won't speak on behalf of all men. I personally think, and I will use myself for an example, that insecurities develop from exposing your vulnerability to someone and being hurt from it. As macho or tough of a front that I can put up, I, as most men do, suppress my emotions and fear that things may happen again. Insecurity may also stem from self esteem issues, inferiority issues, inadequacy issues and those are things that only that individual can deal with. Definately being hurt in the past is a reason for insecurities though, thats where mine come from; because for me, it's hard to trust again. Hope this shed some light for you.

I think because society in general expects more out of a guy as far as being successful, handsome, condfident, all that "macho" stuff. It really wears on some guys when they feel the don't measure up. Yes, I know there is societal pressure on women too.

Depends on the man,or woman for that fact....insecurity comes from many things, a cheating partner, being overweight,ugly,w/e!!! Be S3rious!

it kind-of depends on what happens that you see that their insecure, but i think that if they get insecure when guys are around you. you should take it as a compliment, because it shows that he wants your for himself, and he cares.
