Could be a number of different things. Just off the top of my head I can think of Oscar the Grouch, Academy Award Oscar, and a movie with Sylvester Stallone.

Oscar the Grouch being a muppet...
Academy Award Oscar being given to an actor chosed the best of 5 in a certain category...
And the movie with Sylvester Stallone, Oscar was the character who Stallone's daughter wanted to marry, but we only saw him at the end of the movie when she was marrying Tim Curry's character.

"The Oscars" is sorta a nickname for The Academy Awards. The actual award that the Academy hands out is called an Oscar...which is, natch, why we call the whole shin-dig The Oscars.
