on the size a car oil filter is? besides the size for the area and space for it to fit in, Does the size of the oil filter matter, as in getting a bigger one than the engine has because of more filtering power?

it is bad if you dont adjust the amount of oil you put in the car. a biger filter yes has more filter area but you would need more oil to fill it and could actualy cause problems it is best to use what the car came with

If you could change filter size, the difference would be in the life of the filter. A filter with more media area would last longer before it got plugged up then a filter with a smaller media area. For most people, this is not an issue.

I do beleive they make certain filters for certain cars. If you want your car to run properly you need to get what is made for your car or you can cause major problems.
