I think Jacques will cope fine at nascar, he certainly has enough f1 experience. The nature of the sport may differ slightly, but at these levels it won't take long to adjust.

Nothing has been signed for Jacques Villeneuve to race in NASCAR next year, according to his Public Relations Manager.
When contacted by ESPN, Roush Racing said the story is not true and that Villeneuve has not signed with them.

He would perform well on the road courses and would probably be okay on the cookie cutter tracks. He will be a moving chicane on the short tracks and will be a danger at the plate races. It wouldn't surprise me if he finished worse than 20th in the points his first full year, but was competitive enough to challenge for a win at Watkins Glen or Sonoma. I think Montoya is a better fit for NASCAR, although he will have the same struggles listed above.

Why did he leave before Schumacher's retirement?
Who should bash the Greatest Cheater in the World when Villeneuve (the lead MS-basher) is gone?
He should have waited a bit. Just until the end of the year. To bash Schumacher further in conversations.

Jacques replaced into better than an ok motive force in his CART and early F1 days (or perhaps previous). jointly as he isn't the superb motive force who has been F1 Champion, he isn't any slouch the two. particular, he's a brilliant-mouth. I have not any argument with that. He enable his attitude slip to a element the place his arrogance that had pushed him to be a race winner grew to become one that made him think of he did no longer could paintings for it anymore. i could push some blame on good previous Craig Pollack for no longer tapping Jacques on the shoulder and asserting "hi pal, time for an attidude adjustment." enable him try NASCAR. what's the wear and tear. we've already considered that being a triumphing motive force in open-wheel racing isn't inevitably going to recommend you do nicely in NASCAR (hi... A.J.... how's that Sunday afternoon tan coming?). And we've considered that some can do it. certainty is Montoya's no longer doing that badly is he. the ingredient that Jacques Villeneuve has going for him is he's nervy. he's somewhat as keen as any motive force in any sequence accessible as we communicate to plunge into the fray and not be afraid of any tradin' paint. enable's see what he can do. i do no longer anticipate a heck of plenty, yet i do no longer think of he would be as numerous a no-tutor as Allmendinger could he get employed in the tutor. a minimum of he will do better if he shows as much as race (somewhat than basically %. up a pay verify). I don't think it's true. JV is pretty into his "own thing" back in Switzerland-skiing, music, etc. I don't think he needs the money. I wouldn't be suprised to see him race sports cars, though. He has a home at Mt. Tremblant, so the 6 hours at Mt. Tremblant comes to him.

I think he's lot better than crap drivers with rides like Kwapil or recently fired Wimmer or Lepage. It also shows where the money is for drivers. That is not in IRL or Champ. If your not going to be in F-1, CUP is the place to be.
