Vets usually don't make a whole lot of money, and you'll likely rack up a lot of debt to pay for vet school. It's one of those jobs that people do because they love it, not because it's lucrative. Also keep in mind that there are very few Vet Med (DVM) programs in the entire country, so competition can be quite fierce to get in. If your main goal is a good job and good pay, then being a vet probably isn't for you.

Yes, if you excel in math and science and, above all, love working with animals. Why not get a part time job with a vet now to see first hand what the career entails and whether or not you are suited for it. You could also volunteer at local animal shelters. Good luck!!

particularly Elson, it may be complicated to appreciate in actuality as a results of blunt transport yet what perfectlybaked published (5years in the past) is authentic. maximum DVMs don t specialise and as a result finally end up coping with primary emergencies, ordinary verify united statesand neutering. in view that animals re nonetheless considered to be a luxurious merchandise (as much as I disagree with it) all of us isn't keen to spend 10,000 money on maximum cancers scientific care as against padding their retirement nest egg. I stay in India, finding out no rely if to flow to varsity for scientific sciences or veterinary sciences in spite of the undeniable fact that we don t have the assured seal of healthful meat. In different factors of the international alongside with your you my have a DVM looking after the fowl and cattle in spite of the undeniable fact that in case you reside in a metropolitan city of the western international alongside with manhattan, L.A. or Washington DC hazard is your meat and eggs come from animal farms. Which basically try one in each and every 15,00 animals for ailment, one that is chosen by using the farm. As for the main question, i'm nonetheless battling the alternative.

If you love animals. I do belive it's extremely competitive though. Maybe aim for something you are passionate about, rather than the money itself.
