My sister is petitioning her husban to become a US legal resident, the papers have been in for about a year and still no residence card or anything. She just found out she is six weeks pregant and she has no insurance, no job, no nothing. Can she apply for medicaid or any other state help, without interuppting or damaging her husban's immigrantion papers? Any help/advice will help. Thank you.

I think I have your question right, it's a little strangely worded. But, If she is the U.S. Citizen, then there should be no problems with her getting state-funded health care. If her husband lives with her, she will have to put him down on her medicaid forms as a household member, but she does not have to disclose his social security number (since he probably doesn't have one anyway.) They may ask her if he has a job. He shouldn't be able to legally so she should say no and not report any of his income. It shouldn't cause any problems with immigration at all, actually, having his child will improve his chances of being accepted, and as soon as she has proof of pregnancy (you can get it from your doctor) she should report that to INS. If it seems like it's taking a long time, the process is long for residency, but, she should talk to an immigration lawyer because if her husband is in the states already he can get a temporary work visa and a social security number (that is not valid for re-entry to the US.) This will make their lives much easier. Congrats to her and good luck :)

First of all she should contact INS to see why it is taking so long for the paper work. When she pention for her husband did she need a sponsor? They want to make sure the income is good or they want a sponsor to help with any finical needs. I would go and try and apply for help, but do not lie about anything. You don't want INS to find out that you lie to get the medical card.

even as she is requested to fill out her affidavit of help, she will be in a position to probable favor a co sponsor to assist her out. She has to teach that her husband received't count upon the authorities for help. I recommend that she see an immigration atty or extra perfect yet, have her call her Congressperson in her district. They employ human beings specially for immigration help. They make telephone calls on your behalf and help the approach alongside its way. It wont p.c. it up, yet they're going to be particular the approach that your sister is entitled too receives performed! good luck!

She should also try to get WIC,
I don't see why it would interrupt anything as far as immigrant ion.
Call your states social service building to see what kind of help she can get.
