It will be batter to ask someone to take with him or her.You may get it cleared from UK custom but it will reach the right person in India ?? empty envelopes are delivered by the post mans there.Don't do it send money they may buy it there.

Dont send by mail as the importer would be required to pay Customs duty.Better send alongwith a passenger who gets duty free allowance of Rs.25000/- at Airport when goods are brought with him at Airport in accompanied baggage.
