Just saw a study on this and was wondering what you thought.

I see this all the time especially at restaurants. It is disgusting. You mean to tell me your going to go to the bathroom, grab that dirty door handle and then go eat?

Call me OCD but I like being clean. I ALWAYS Wash my hands whether I'm at home or in a restaurant. And when I leave the restroom at the restaurant I make sure I have that paper towel with me to grab that handle. I also carry around the waterless hand cleanser (Purell).

I guess that's why I never get sick. It's August and I haven't had a cold yet this year (knock wood).

Just a simple survey:

Gender:
Age:

When you go to the bathroom (whether at home or out), do you wash your hands when you are done and why or why not?

etiquette my dear, etiquette is the answer. next comes --hygiene. obviously they have not read or heard about hygiene. what is most troubling is that workers -- specially in food joints -- who do this un-hygienic stuff and they deal with food and the public. i rest my case and yours too -- i hope.

I wash my hands constantly, but I have seen lots of people leave the restroom without washing. I try not to think about it, that is what immune systems are for. Just live life, and wash your hands a few times extra, and it will balance out.

I ALWAYS at the least rinse my hands, and I am appalled at how many guys just stroll right out without washing!! Ladies, you would be shocked, it's probably upwards of 25% of the guys I happen to see in restrooms.

I always wash my hands, at home and out. I try not to touch the handle going out of a public restroom. I always carry hand sanitizer in my purse, just in case.

technically, you should wash your hands before and after, because the hands build up a lot of sweat and germs regardless what your touching. id hate to think what germs are collected on keyboards. Office staff are probably the worst for it and they have more germs collected on the keys than anywhere in a rest-room.

I always wash my hands. I do it without thinking. It is automatic now. Other people don't because they are nasty, plain and simple. It is best for everyone if you wash them. It's sad that there has to be signs posted stating that employees wash hands. I didn't really see those signs 15yrs. ago
