An ultimatum is basically giving a person only two choices. In your case it would be "Quit smoking, or I am leaving".

Quitting smoking will only succeed if the smoker want it to. No ultimatum will ever help and it will only end your relationship. Smoking is the single most addictive drug in the world, and the most difficult to quit. Even more than things like cocaine.

Unless you want your relationship to end, don't give an ultimatum because he has to CHOOSE to quit, you can't force him.

A man will only change if he wants to, not because you give him an ultimatum. A lot of times an ultimatum drives people away.

your ultimatum would be a very difficult choice taht your boyfriend has to make. in this case its obviously between choosign you and smoking

i think you have to weigh it up carefully. if the smoking habit is really a big issue for you, big enough to lose him, then go right ahead. its all about personal preferences.

Ultimatums don't work if a person doesn't really want to change. Decide what you want in your life and then move in that direction.
