you could search a currency exchange and figure out how many american dollars you have.

since the difference is so vast, it might not be worth changing it over.

1989 currency is not circulating anymore in Mexico, so probably you wonÂ´t be able to exchange it. I donÂ´t even remember how money looked like in 1989.

Any currency exchange place should be able to turn it into american money.
