the moisture and dust particles which form fog diffuse, reflect and absorb the light passing through meaning that the light reflecting off objects we want to see doesnt make it to our eyes. The fog is extremely good at reflecting lights as well, which is why putting on your high beam headlights while driving is NOT recommended, though having your normal lights on is good b/c it's easier to see someone else's lights than to see your own reflecting off of them (half the distance through the fog to see their own lights)

it is a simple theory of refraction
as we know only when light incident on any object when reflects from the surface that particular object is visible
in case of foggy days, the moisture in air is so dense
that an object at a particular distance eventhough reflects light,
that light has to undergo a large number of refractions whenever it is incident on each droplet as a result we get a very blurr image
and also some objects are very difficult to observe
this is justification also suffice the querie
as farther the object the more are refractions and hence less visibility

The fog particles will hide the visibility....

BECAUSE FOG COLOUR IS NOT TRANSPARENT. BUT OF WATER IS TRANSPARENT.
