Its not easy to quit. If you love him keep trying. Maybe he could try the patch or other things that are available to help people quit.

I don't really smoke to often but everyone I know does and I have no moral objection. I dated two potheads in a row. My old boyfriend would always over do it. He was so burnt and stupid all the time, I was annoyed by his very presence (although I did love him). My boyfriend now smokes ever day but a moderate amount. The difference between his high self and his sober self is pretty indistinguishable. It's like someone who is a little buzzed from a couple beers and someone who drinks so much every night they pee in your bed. The point is, he doesn't need to get stupid. Popping pill is another story entirely. I think it's a good sign of self destructive personality which is bad news sister.

You can demand all you want, but until he decides it is not going to happen. I know my children tried for years, I did not stop. Then about a year and a half a go I smoked my last pack. I'm like your boyfriend I stopped off an on but did not give it a good try until I was ready. So he has to decided to do it on his own. Good Luck

He has to want to stop to even have a chance to stop smoking. I understand your frustration because my best friend is a smoker and when we spend time together and go our separate ways I spell the smoke on my clothes and in my hair and I absolutely HATE it.

You began dating him with this problem so why do you expect him to change now??? If you can not except him for what he is them move on. His moms fault - NOT - it's your fault for thinking you can "MAKE" someone change, get over yourself!

Ugh. my bf does that too. He's tried the stupid pills but that doesn't work too well. I'm also giving him an ultimatum. You should too and stick to your word.
