I'd be inclined to say that America as a whole (not all Americans) has an unreconciled relationship with sex that causes us to act out differently in public and in private.

God, in whatever form or religion , may dictate personal views on sexuality, but I'm hesitant to say that God is responsible for American uptightness on the issue. That's the packaging that the politicians are trying to sell, but sex has always ultimately been about the individual, not about the government.

Though the latest decision to allow Texas' anti-sex toy law to stand sets a scary precedent...

Only those who believe in God can blame God - which seems appropriate because they're the ones who are most likely to be screwed up, sexually repressed or obsessed by what other people do for sexual pleasure.

ALL Americans ARE screwed up about sex...it is a hold over from our founding fathers, Puritans, furthered by a crazy woman, the Queen of England, Victoria (who, after her husband died, decided that all sex was immoral).
Americans, more so than any other country, are extremely hypocritical in sexual matters...it is always a , "do as I say, not as I do" think here. And that is no where more obvious than in the Anti-Gay movement and the Republican party where anything goes as long as you don't get caught! Good luck

GOD is the one who created me as I am, I had no choice but to accept that I'm gay, the only thing that may screwed me up is believing that all people were suppose to be in heterosexual relationships despite what I felt and I blame those who have tried to screw up my life because I'm gay, try to keep me silence, try to make me feel a shame and refused to believe that when it comes to sexuality there's different sexual orientations despite of what the religious scripture may say it's a contradiction to reality which hurts people if they aren't being true to themselves and there loved ones about there sexuality.

Sexuality is an interesting question. I don't think that most of the general population have problems with sexuality. God should never be blamed. He gave us free agency, and we need to take responsibility for our own actions and decisions.

Nope, there's a big body of people that quite clear and contented with their sexuality.

I was in an adult sunday school class recently and a new college student answered a question and included this, "I know that we all have questions about our sexuality at times." I looked over at the couple of friends behind me and quietly asked, "Have you ever 'questioned your sexuality'?" Both of them could honestly answer "Never, not once." They, as most Americans, are quite pleased with their God-given unambiguous sexuality.
