Pick out the chunks the best you can. Then get an old towel and a warm iron. Lay the towel over the spot, and iron. Move the towel after each ironing, to keep from redepositing wax.
A steam cleaning may work if the water is really hot adn you use some Orange Clean in the water to cut the wax.
If it is colored wax or a light carpet, I have no advice for that. Sorry.

Get a regular brown paper bag, place over wax and apply a hot(ish) dry iron (no steam) onto the paper, move the paper to a clean bit as you see the wax grease on the paper. I wouldn't have the iron too hot in case there is alot of nylon in the carpet (it would melt).

I am going to assume that it is candlewax.
Buy old fashioned blotting paper or even toilet tissue and place over wax, apply an iron to the paper, and the wax should come out like a grease mark . You may have to repeat the process..

Make sure wax is solid, rub area with ice cubes to make certain. Then rub "creamy" peanut butter into area, wax will dis-adhere. Also works for chewing/bubble gum. Clean/shampoo carpet right away to remove the oil from the pb.

I had to do this as quickly as and it wasn't elementary. It basically takes persistence. you will need an previous iron and a few absorbent cloth or previous cotton towels. warmth the iron and place the towel over the wax with the iron over the towel, Slowly soften the wax and soak it up with the towel. The final area is toughest to scrub, in spite of the shown fact that it helps to have a lot of towel. Open the abode windows, it gets pungent.

Hi i would try and pick out what you can and then i would put a cloth on it heat up my iron and iron over the cloth.
you will find that the wax will seep into the cloth and should come of the carpet.
i had the same problem and it seemed to work.
I can hardly see where it was i really have to look.

They have wax remover. You can get it from most industrial cleaning supply stores, or depending on how much wax, you can actually get it from a hot wax kit hair removal kit.

rub it with an ice cube to freeze it and harden it. pick as much of it off as you ca. Let dry(ice will make it wet) get an iron on medium setting and place Brown paper bag on wax. run iron over bag several time. repeat with as many brown bags as necessary to get wax up.
