I have a friend that thinks she is pregnant. besides a missed period she said that her aereolas are huge. I know nipples get bigger when pregnant but do the dark parts of the breasts too?

It is possible for the areolas to get darker and bigger. Also, a female's boobies can become extremely tender and larger as well. I have a friend how said her areolas got darker her first month of pregnancy.

Yep, mine did in the first month or so, and I had a lot of breast pain, then it stopped. But my sister said that it would start again later in the pregnancy when I start producing milk. We both have the family curse of large breasts and she had a lot of problems in that area in her pregnancy. Also, you get more bumps on the areola too, appearently later on they will start leaking oil.... hmm pregnancy is fun. :S

The can expand if the breasts themselves get bigger, but not just on their own.
