It depends on the quality, but if you're looking for "industry standard" (ie what would be used on stage rather than what you would use with a playstation), you need to search for an "SM58" or equivalent microphone.

They tend to cost between £60 and £100 for a reasonable one...probably cheaper on ebay...but they can cost as high as you can afford too.

If you want a bedroom/playstation mic though, its a whole different ballgame - £10-20 on the high street.

The SM58 is an industry standard (H.W. International UK) Audio Technica do a good range of mics which are comparable or better pound for pound but not as robust. If you can afford it at a later stage get some Klotz cable.

Depends wether or not you want to use a "lead mic" or a "radio". If you want a good quality Radio mic you can pic up a seinheiser for around £400.
