Emachines T2865 on off switch is broken. Emachines does not sell the part. To find out from Emachines Customer Service what to do, they want my credit card number. Is there a Generic 2 wire push button on off switch that I can use?

I'm pretty sure you can use a normal ATX power switch, but you never know with eMachines...it might be a proprietary part.

Check with Radio Shack. They carry alot of switches. They may need to see the old switch, but I am sure they carry something compatible. An ATX switch is a momentary swith that makes and breaks contact. This means, there are two jumper pins on the motherboard. A 2 wire switch plugs into them. Make contact once, and the powersupply comes to life. Make contact again (usually have to hold the switch for ten seconds), and the power supply cuts off. Any switch that makes and breaks contact will work. When I am working on computers, I sometimes use a plastic jumper to turn the thing on and off. Good Luck.
