No, why should it be? Unless there are negative moral or ethical implicaitons to the message similar to what Camel cigaretttes did years ago by portraying Joe Camel in a cartoonish friendly fashion aimed very obviously at kids.

Advertising to children are really meant for adults, children watching the ads are catalyst to the purchase action. Sure they will pester their parents to get the latest toy but it is eventually the parents' decision, and that is vital in assisting the development of the child's own decision making process.

Shutting off ads to kids will not eliminate supposed social issues, it this does happen it willl only mean putting off exposure to ads till his later years, something he cannot escape in a capitalist society.

Assuming you mean advertising for something that isn't "good" for kids, I absolutely agree with you. People are so sneaky with the way they advertise these days... but on the same token it's done in such a non-obtrusive way that it would be very difficult to scrutinize every advertisement and say that it can't be played because it has something in it that a child might be drawn to. Good topic... I could go on for a while on this one... :)

I think fast food ads what innundate children's programming should be banned. As well as cereal ads.
