Why Subway Trains have windows?

Beside stations, there's nothing out to watch for.

To see the stations and many people want the sense of movement. Subways usually are only underground in the center of town and come out into the air in the suburbs.

Because humans want to see where they are going. Our minds would act out if there were not windows. Some people can tell when their stop is coming or think they can by a pattern in the bricks.
Plus there is landscrape to look at when the train id traveling above ground.

Besides the above good answers, could it also have to do with not feeling enclosed or trapped. Put a bunch of hurried, tired, anxious, or nervous people together in an enclosed tube with no windows and you've got yourself a recipe for diaster.

because if there is a problem like the power goes out or something that would require the passengers to get out before they get to the station then the windows can be broken so people can get out.

You just said it. So you can see what street you are at when you pull up to the next station. And maybe you might see someone you know and get off when you see them.
