I think there was a stereotype for young women marrying guys 20+ years older than them, was it true in real life? still is?

Anyway, you get the picture. it still happens all the time. It seems okay for older men to be with younger woman but not so the other way around. Why people are more accepting I don't know.
Another interesting Hollywood trend is overweight men with sometimes younger and more shall we say physically fit woman. Jim Belushi with Courtney Thorn Smith in According to Jim, Kevin James and Leah Remini in King of Queens. If Roseanne came out with a show with some hotter, younger guy as her husband odds are people wound not watch, and would probably criticize the show for not being realistic. Who knows why the sandards are diffrent, but America feels older woman are not as attractive as older men. Hollywood will contiune to do thid. The truth is, it is tough for older actresses to get roles, it's too bad because they are just as beautiful as many younger actresses. Just look at Goldie Hawn.....

Older men are generally more confident and mature. They have "grown into themselves" as in they are comfortable in who they are. They tend to also treat women with a lot more resepect than the younger ones do as younger men are still finding themselves while trying to show what a man they are. Older men are looking for love and committment...Young guys only want to mess around

because in that era that is the way it was they thought older men to be more financially secure and most of them were. Younger men were off dying in wars so all that was left was the older men who might have lost their first wives to illness. That was just the way it was back then.

Because older women are not found as attractive as younger ones, and older male stars still have box office draw.
