Instead of, say, in the Religion & Spirituality category?

For me the problem is that if I've tried my best to give a philosophical answer to a purportedly philosophical question and then find out the questioner was actually looking for a religious or spiritual answer I begin to wonder if I've wasted my time. The fact is if I found the same question in the Religion & Spirituality category I'd likely answer it differently.

I have no argument with someone placing the same question in different categories looking for different perspectives. I do that myself. I am concerned here with a religious or spiritual question placed ONLY in the Philosophy category and masquerading as a philosophical question. In other words, my objection is only to those questioners not actually open to a philosophical perspective.

mzJakes: I initially posted this question in the Philosophy category, then tried the Yahoo! Answers category. I got what I considered irrelevant and/or biased answers in both so I thought I'd give this category a try and see what I came up with. Actually, I'm thinking now that the question fits best here anyway.

So why post this in the PSYCHOLOGY category.

Philosophy is, in many ways, a secular religion. For those seeking answers the the great questions of life, but are not ready for God-centered answers, will seek the knowledge of the philosophers.

Many people dislike the term religion, but nevertheless have questions which you or I might consider religious. They don't think of them as religious, but spiritual is too vague, and so they use philosophy. Sounds more academic, objective, intellectual.

Because as with all things associated with memory as opposed to experience................

in many cases, religion is a creation of limits and understanding. remember we have two sides to our brain, just like every story!
