well, I am assuming you already know the answer and just want to see people's reactions to the question. Think of this, though: if lightning wasn't emmited what would happen to all that static up there? and if there wasn't rain how the earth deal w/ evaporation? It's interesting to think about how different it would be without all that...

that was an awesome idea, and lighting rods were the greatest inventions ,I crazy glued one onto the hands of a couple pets and placed them outisde in a thunderstorm and had the most delightful evening watching nature electrocute them, it was very pleasant indeed
