My wife is turning 29 in a few days, and I'm looking for a unique birthday gift that won't break the bank. We just had a our 1st kid a few months ago so funds are tight. $50 to $100 range.

If she just had a baby, give her a day and night out. with her friends or a spa. she probably needs a little time for herself. she needs to pampered so she can be a better wife and mother. I should know I am a mother of 5 ages ranging from 15years to 3 months. So take it form me she will love the time you give her for herself.

Unlike the one comment, avoid perfume!!! This can cause a problem, not for your wife but for the baby! It is proven to confuse the babies with identifying their mom before 6 weeks and it is suggested that a woman shouldn't return to wearing her perfume till about 6 months so that the baby has a solid visual and verbal recognition.
If she is a fan of jewelry, try something that is priced in your budget at a local jeweler. No luck? Try www.BlueNile.com as they have a large beautiful stock for parent budgets.
Or, you can create a sexy rendevous without leaving home! If you have enough time, order some silk rose petals (usable more than once!) Then, on the day of her birthday, when she gets up in the morning, tell her to put on her sexiest lingerie beneath her clothes and arrange to have the baby taken to a grandparents or some one you trust to watch him/her. That way, she will have a sexy mystery on beneath her nose all day! If she works evenings, do it while she's at work, if she doesn't, find a way to make her leave for at least 45 minutes. Sprinkle the rose petals as needed from the door to the bed in your room. On the bed, lay a single rose with you standing nearby, dressed comfy yet sexy (lounge pants only! but not boxers...) Instant romance! And for about $30 bucks overall!
If that isn't her thing, or you are really serious about having a small budget, try something like a small bouquet of her favorite flower. If it's roses, even a single will do the trick. With the bouquet add a little note, detailing how much you love her, how sexy she is (important with a new baby) and just how happy you are to be with the beautiful woman that she is.

Hope I helped!

Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals beginner pack is $69 and gives her everything she needs to start; you can also get samples of the eye shadows, and other colors, like face glow and bronzers, on Ebay for very little - the most expensive samples I've seen are 2.00, and they usually run 1.69 or thereabouts. A sample is enough to use for quite a while since you use less than regular makeup. The glitters and glimpses on those really make you feel beautiful - even if you are the only one who knows!

Other ideas: take the $50-$100 to your local spa and see what it would get you in the line of a gift certificate...or send her to a hotel overnight for a real break and some "me" time instead of "mommy" time. Bath and Body Works has some great smelling stuff ranging from $10 to $25 that will make her time in the bath or shower energizing. How about a bottle of her favorite perfume? Most of them come in slightly under $100 yet. Good luck, dude, you sound like a thoughtful sort of guy!

Wow, with a new baby, how about a period of time at a day spa?
Maybe just a hot stone massage or if she is into nails, a nail session. Something just for her & you be the babysitter!
If you can do the upper range of the money, give her all you can get for the price, & surprise her with it. Say you are all going out for a drive, & then pull up at the spa!
She will remember that for a long time!

Give her gift certificates for your services that she can "cash" in anytime she wants. Services such as: massage from you; you'll watch the baby while she goes shopping, has a bath, relaxes with a book or whatever she wants to do; you'll make dinner that night; you'll arrange for a sitter and take her out; etc... Whatever you think she'll like. This way, it doesn't cost much and she'll really appreciate you recognizing how difficult it is to take care of a baby and that she still needs time for herself sometimes.

Make a little coupon book for her. Include a coupon for a night out with her friends and you'll stay home with baby. A coupon for you to cook supper/clean up supper one night. A coupon for you to do a load of laundry everyday for a week. (Trust me on these...she'll probably cry. LOL)

As for the $50 - $100 gift....I can't answer. Just think about WHO she was when you fell in love with her....what attracted you to her? Did she really enjoy music? Was she good at sports? Was she committed to her family? Once you start remembering who she was when you met, you'll know what to get her. I guarantee it. :o)

Good luck!

Get her a pedicure, manicure and massage fromone of the family owned salons, not the high priced, overrated ones. Package will run you under $100

Buy her tickets to a concert or a play. Although I'm sure she loves the new baby, she will appreciate some time for just the two of you. You'll make a memory.

try gettting her a professional full body massage. They have some very good ones for under $100. Add a peticure and manicure to the equation and she will be in heaven!

Check out a very nice, local spa and ask them about a facial, pedicure, manicure OR a massage. You can pick and choose to keep within your price range. EVERY woman loves to be pampered and what a wonderful way to tell her you love her MORE each year.

This is totally all about her and she will love it!!
