its very easy really... you have to push your stone across the lane as close as possible to the center of the rings on the other end. then the opponent team pushes their stone. it is allowed to use your stone to kick away previous stones from both teams. every team has six shots (or seven?). the winner is who has the stone closest to the center. this will earn you one point for the overall game. if you have more than one stone closer to the center than any opponents stone, you get the according number of points for this set. the game consists of a number of sets, that has to be agreed upon in advance. winner is not who won the most sets, but who made the most overall points. there.
the rest are tactics and formailities... you will figure them out easily if you follow a game once

There are two teams(rinks) of 4 players and each player throws 2 stones(rocks) alternating with the opposite team. a team is comprised of a lead(throws the first two stones),second, third and skip. after all eight players have thrown their rocks(totalling 16) an end has been played. there are usually 8 or 10 ends per game. The skip is the person that decides how each end will be played(kind of like chess) they figure out where they want the stone to finish, then they decide how much the rock will curl before it reaches the other side, and how heavy the thrower will throw the rock, then they place the broom wich the thrower will aim at. and with some help from the two sweepers by either sweeping to keep the stone from curling, or to sweep so that the stone will move farther down the ice. and hopefully the stone will stop right where the skip had planned, and the other team will throw, while the skip plans the next shot.
There are a few basic rules,
- when throwing the rock it must be let go by the time it reaches the "hog line" a line painted into the ice.
-when sweeping one may not touch the stone while it is in motion at any time
-you may not sweep the other teams rocks untill it reaches the back of the rings on the other side, and then only one person may sweep.
-and have fun. it is as much a "gentlemans" sport like golf
and appropriate etticate is required. no loud cursing, no temper tantrums, etc..

Why don't you find a curling club - join - and find everything out there. By the way, it's actually called a "rink", not a team. The rink that throws it's rocks closest to the button wins that end [now you're gonna ask me what an end is] and there are 10 ends in every "game", unless one of the rinks is so far behind that they decide to quit early.
Each player has 2 rocks to throw for a total of 8 rocks in each end. The skip and the third decide what weight of rock to throw, whether it's take-out or draw. Then the skip gives the amount of ice required by the player for either shot by putting her broom in the appropriate place.
