she used to go to sleep around 10 pm. about a month ago, around 9pm, then a week ago around 8. last night she went to sleep at 6pm! she ate at 4,i thought maybe she wanted a nap before dinner, that she'd be awake at 7, have dinner at 8 and go to back to sleep. instead, she slept until 4:30 this morning!, she was crying but her eyes were closed and she was kicking, like she wanted to roll (i put her to sleep on her back since she was born, recently she learned to roll from back to belly, and last night she slept on her tummy for the first time) i tried to comfort her, lightly rubbed her head and back, she had no fever but she kept crying. since it seamed like she was trying to roll from belly to back, i softly helped her and she started screaming! she looked scared! i panicked and picked her up, i thought she was hungry cause she missed a feeding, i fed her, she went back to sleep, woke up at 9am, had breakfast and went back to sleep! she always looks tired recently, what could this be?

It does sound normal. She could be getting ready to get a few teeth. My daugther used to scream with her eyes closed when she was getting teeth. A few drops of the baby tylenol and she was back off to sleep in 10 minutes. Or maybe she is having a growth spurt. My daughter sleeps a lot and is crabby when she is getting ready to grow. I bet in a few days the clothes that fit the day before will suddenly be too small. Maybe she is having trouble getting into her sleep patern. You may possibly need to help her along to get back on schedule. At that age if their nap is off by as little as an hour things are messed up for days.

It is normal for babies to change their sleeping and eating habits. If you are not on a consistent daily schedule, now would be a good time to start. Try feeding baby and putting her to bed around 7pm. She will probably wake up once or twice during the night to eat, and eventually will start sleeping all night long. If she is crying, but appears to be asleep, she may just be having a bad dream. Let her cry for 10-15 min, if she is still crying or awake after that, you can try feeding, or rocking her back to sleep. This will also help her learn to sleep thru the night.

Sounds like she is going through a stage. Babies are all different. But they all have one thing in common they like to sleep all the time. She probably was just hungry. If you dont' like the schedule she is naturally falling into change it. Wake her up and her normal feeding and changing times and give her plenty to "do" sensory toys and get down and play with her. If you are really concerned call your dr and get some input from them. She may have started teething it can start this early and she is learning how to do some stuff. It is always a "shock" for infants when they roll over. They have learned to do it but they dont' know how they did it and it disorients them for a moment. Just comfort her and praise when she does this. Have fun with this stage it doesnt' last long and you will want it back when it is gone.

SHE'S FINE. My baby the same way she 5 months too. My baby tries to get while sleep the doctor said she fine she is learning to do more and she whippers so much so some days when he wakes up at 4 am i would get her and let her stand up she start smiling and play that odd but she will sleep longer if i allow her to play for a few and then give a bottle and then lay her back down she seems to sleep longere on her belly. My baby wakes up like every 4 hours. You baby is fine just beng a baby.

It sounds like a stage she is going through! She may also be teething too. At 5 months old they can start to popping teeth out. At 5 months old they do get frustrated when they can not do something they want to. They have to work at it. Sometimes letting them cry it out is okay! But if they do not calm down after a little bit then you can go in and comfort them. When you helped her roll over it probably scared her a little and she reacted to it! If you feel that something is wrong see her doctor. A mother's instincts are very strong and they always follow them!

sounds like a growing spurt, no worries just keep comforting her. Remember when you were a kid and you got growing pains in your legs and arms? Maybe she needs a little rub down every now and then. I do my 4 month old with baby oil whenever she's upset but nothing seems wrong ( dry diaper, fed and burped ) it works, strip her down to diaper, lay her on her back and start from her feet and work up, talking and smiling so you don't freak her out. There are quite a few books on baby massage as well.

Sounds like she may be going through a growing spurt. Babies tend to be tired & sleep alot when they are having growing spurts. Sounds pretty normal to me (I have 4 babies, ages 6, 4, 2, & 1) but, if it is really bothering you call your pediatricians office & explain everything to your nurse. She will talk it over with the doc & if they feel they need to see the baby they will call you back to set an appointment.

If she is not sick at all, runny nose, fever, cough, those kind of things then I'm sure she is fine. But like I said if it really bothers you talk to the doc. Go with your gut feelings, your instincts as a mother are usually right. Good luck.

she was probably dreaming. My doctor said it's ok fo rthem to sleep on their tummies after 3 months. My daughter is 11 months and she used to do similar things....very mysterious. Just hold her and comfort her. You sound like a great mother =)

This sounds normal to me. They are growing and changing so much at this age. She will get into a more set pattern of behaviour by the time she is a year old. Give her a kiss from an old lady who brought up seven. xoxoxo
