When I was interviewing a potential new hire, I saw this listed on her resume: "private exoctic dancer." She was interviewing for an accounting job. Why would someone put this on their resume?

In answer to your question.. No I did not hire her. I would have omited this and claimed to be a "work at home mom" or something similar.

In answer to you question.. I did not bring it up with her. I told her that we are going to "go another direction." I didn't want an "HR" issue.

Because the person is nut. Obviously she is crueless and just coming from the cave to apply for the job. She might need to work on resume writing for another two year if she want to be hired.

i think the resume should be tailored for every job vacancy that i post it to.

sure there's no relation between accounting and exotic dancing but maybe she did this as a kind of attracting the one who filteres the resumes to give her an interview and she reached her goal successfully. (which is a good idea i think)

Maybe she's not a good resume writer.

You surely asked her... what did she tell you??!!!

Only if you are being interviewed to persue a job as a porn star or something. Other wise, no intelligent self-respecting person would put "Stripper" on their resume.

A job is a job - if you don't write anything, people might assume you were in jail. The best thing to do is not become a stripper, then you don't have to worry about admitting it later in life!

Depends on the job your applying for and the location between the two! I'm sure if the lady turned it in to me it would be fine!

I would see this as the woman being a " people person " who did charity work or dealt in public relations

at least she was honest. personally, i don't think i would have the guts to admit something like that on a resume... sounds pretty risky. but maybe she's trying to turn her life around now.

I think she did not want people to think she was not working at all for two years.
