I have tried numerous things to try to fix this. I've tried removing all add-ons, system restore, uninstall video driver and reinstalled it, uninstalled WoW reinstalled WoW, put a new sound card in (I installed the driver for that), Defragmented my computer, cleaned the interior of the case (in case it was overheating), and now I'm at a lost as to what to do. I'm not computer savvy, so please explain to me like you would a child =)

Symptoms : After a few seconds or few minutes of gameplay, the UI freezes. I am however, able to use my mouse. If I catch it quick enough, I am able to tab out with my Windows key. If I let it sit for too long then I won't be able to tab out and I'll have to hard reset my computer. Neither the windows key, nor Alt+F4 will exit me out of the game, niether will Ctrl-Alt-Del.

At this point, I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be apprieciated.

RAM might be an issue. I'd check on the tech support forums at www.worldofwarcraft.com and see if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it. If no one has that problem, and you have the system requirments for the game, call Blizzard Tech Support. They might know what the issue is. Good luck.

I had something similar like this happen to me before, almost immediately as I logged into the game.

It turned out, it was a problem with my video card. I'm using an nvidia FX 5200 256 mb. I did some research on the http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com and found out that the best driver for me to use was an older version. It was roughly 5-6 months old at the time, and there have been numerous driver updates.

I figured nothing was working so I gave it a shot, uninstalled the recent driver and installed the older one that a nice fellow from the tech forums said to install. It turned out that it fixed everything perfectly. Trying seaching the forums for your specific video card and if people have had problems with it in the past.

Also try checking for spyware. I run both Spybot search and destroy and ad-aware. I also make sure there are no running viruses and programs that harm my computer, you can do this by using an advanced process killer. There are alot of viruses/keyloggers out now targeted JUST FOR world of warcraft.

it sounds like a RAM Issue (the temporary dump where programs can get and run data quickly) you either dont have enough or other programs are taking up too mutch space.

how mutch ram do you have and are you closing any unneaded programs while you play? if you have enough according to the requirements on the box, i would suggest closing some programs, you only really need a firewall (unless your going through a hardware firewall or a router), the operating system, and the game running. and if that doesnt work, make sure your scanning your computer for spyware aswell as viruses.
