I don't think I would say anything different than what I already said. My mom always said the time for showing someone you care about them is not after they've died, but while they are still alive. Who cares if you go to the cemetary to lay flowers on a grave if you didn't bother to show that person your love while they were alive. When my dad died 5 years ago, I felt comforted by the fact that I had spent lots of time with him throughout both my childhood and adult life--going to lunch, chatting, doing nothing special, but all of it let him know he was important to me and that I loved him. I couldn't do any better than that even if he could come back.
