The entire story is not out yet. Who knew what when is not yet determined.
There is never an excuse for harassing, endangering, molesting or subjecting minors to inappropriate sexual advances, or for enabling others to do so.
This is not about party politics, people. This is about a sick individual and what the leadership knew and when they knew it.

It has nothing to do with Kids. To a Polititian, Kids are merely a means to a vote. How many polititians have big families. Gee! I can't think of any.
The only thing important about Foley is that he upset the status quo and that must be corrected. If they punished every Senator and Congressman who committed a crime, the Government would be decimated.
Ted Kennedy drove a car off of a jetty with a dead girl in the back seat. They would not allow an autopsy to performed on that girl, because they could not let the real cause of her death be known
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, now doesn't that make that creepy Pervert Foley look a lot better. Most Republicans are Catholic, and we all know how the Catholic Church protects the Child Molesters. There has been too many to count, but I did not see them charged and jailed.
The battle cry of Congress is " Cover your But". It is interesting how this came out just before the Elections.
It doesn't matter whether it is Republican or Democrat, which I am niether. Politics is a Conspiracy. What happened to that Democratic Congressman Condit after they investigated him about that missing intern. That story just flared up and died. He had an affair with that girl then she disappeared.
The List of Miscreant in our Government is long
now if you want to talk about Parties:
WWII===Democratic President:::::Korean War Democratic President
Viet Namn: Democratic President
Bosnia Conflict Democratic President
What is more Dispicable than War. The only basic Difference between a Democrat and a Republican is the name.

No politics here.I will be disappointed if the American people fall for such stupid and shameless excuses as being molested as a teenager. He has to pay the price and be labelled a sexual predator.
Politics can wait.We are talking about immorality. If people blame their actions on childhood molestation, alchohol and mental issues,an the society falls for that, then there is still a long way to go.
We must rise up and condemn such excuses and declare them irrelevant in the event of criminal offences.

I would like the news to let us see the entire transcript of what was said between the 2. That way we can make the decision as to if it was right or wrong for him to be talking to a youngster. Its interesting that most people find no problems with older men dating younger women or older women dating younger men, but when its under 18, it becomes a crime. What makes it morally wrong for a person over 18 to have relations with a person under 18 other than some laws? Years and years ago people use to get married at 11 or 12. Lets face it, people can't control what the are attracted to. Gay or straight, young or old.

Please provide evidence that the party protected Foley. By all accounts the emails in question were not in and of themselves overly sexual in content. It was instead the IM text which was damning. The emails were known to the Speaker last year, he has admitted this, but they were also known to several news agencies who launched invetigations and deemed the material unworthy of publication, thus confirming the Speaker's contention. The IMs on the other hand were released roughly a week ago by ABC News and indeed are the smoking gun. They leave no doubt that Foley is a dispicable pedophile. The Speaker states that he did not see these IMs until were released by ABC. The Speaker has also called for a full investigation of the matter. I am not condoning anyone's actions here. In fact if it is proven that anyone in the leadership knew the true extent of Foley's depravity and did not act they should be crucified. However, it is improper to level allegations in a matter of fact manner indicting the entire party before all of the evidence is in.

Only if you're the House speaker.
Even conservative activists like Richard Viguerie say "The fact that they just walked away from this, it sounds like they were trying to protect one of their own members rather than these young boys" - on Fox News no less, the channel on which you're supposed to believe Foley is a Democrat!

North American Man Boy Love association is a major contributor to the republican party and they did not want to offend them in this era of political correctness.
If we can not agree that Foley is a perv and should be kept from being around children by being placed in prison for the rest of his life .

Honestly; Yes protecting the kids is more important. I also question why the Democrats held onto this information until right before the election. Did they feel that political gain was more important than protecting the kids

I read in a book years ago that the only thing that can totally kill your career as an elected official is to be caught with a dead hooker or a little boy.
So yes they needed to protect him so that a democrat wouldnt win that seat.Sickening.
