How long could we last if the sun burnt out?

Not very long. The Earth would freeze and crops would die. People with stockpiles of food and fuel could survive longer than regular people, but eventually the atmosphere would condense to become pools of liquid oxygen and nitrogen leaving a vacuum where the air used to be.

interestingly the gas giants still have very hot cores and very large magnetic fields, this was predicted by creation scientists Russ Humphreys and confirmed by satellite fly by experiments... but is contrary to expectations of long age naturalists and quite the anomoly, eh?

Pretty dim prospect. The current scientific prediction is that the sune will go super nover in about 3 billion years, so I don't think I'll be around to time how long we will have after that.

Hmm...maybe for 12hrs or 2days max...but we'll be completely drained with no energy what so ever.
