I've ried marketwatches virtual stock exchange but it never works. Does fidelity or TD have something I can practice on? Thanks!

If you have an account set up at a brokerage, they usually have some form of Demo or practice account.

Otherwise, Investopedia.com simulator is great. Join a competition or create your own. Trade stocks, options, ETF's, and you can even go short.

SimuStock is another one, simpler, but they do not allow shorting.
