He obviously knew exactly what kids needed to be protected from.
See below, but I just read some of the Adam Walsh 2006 Child Protection Law, that Foley co-wrote. I don't think it applies to Foley (warning: I'm not a lawyer). I don't think he can be charged with a crime under that law either.

Goes to show you what free will looks like .I am sure being Gay and sending messages to little boys was just what Mark Foley wanted out of life .
Guess that throughs out free will here .He worked to protect kids and look what he did .
Guess something greater then his own will must of made him do it .If these where religious days he would be saying how the devil had possesed him but things as they are today he can only say booze did it .
A man who was never seen with a drink in his hands even by close associates of his . Some might even call him friend and never say him down a beer or a drink ever .
SO what is really going on .

Interesting...but article dosen't mention any specific laws....in fact I think that's part of the problem....as it stands now, w/ no conformation he actually had physical contact with these boys...they are having trouble coming up with a charge.
Our laws re: pedophelia behavior on the internet vary.....look at the John Karr case....his possesion of pics of YOUNG girls was nothing more than a misdomeaner.
It is my opinion he has had contact with young men....and will be just a matter of time until that is uncovered or someone comes foward....so that press conf yesterday IMO was nothing more than Foley establishing some sort of defense....some sort of diminished capicity( due to alcohol) defense....perhaps he will claim he had blackouts...who knows.

Lock him up,if and only if it is illegal to IM sexual innuendos to someone of legal age.. .. The e-mails were not sexual. It is not okay when an adult of any standing is trying to seduce a kid , legal or not... But I wonder why the Dem's are having such a hay day with this when one of their own Congressmen had a Sexual relationship with a male 16yr. old page , seems no one was on the band wagon then....

Kind of like the inventor of the guillotine who was beheaded on his own invention during the French Revolution.
Out of reflex, the Catholic Church assigned Foley immediately to another parish.

Considering the FBI said it is in a grey mode because of this it might not be able to prosecute him because as far as the investigation shows now there isnt enough to make it a criminal action....I disagree with that but thats what it says today.....

If we're gonna prosecute him for inappropriate behavior, what should we do with a president that has lied & misled the world in order to fight an immoral & illegal war & is responsible for thousands upon thousands of deaths???

It's not very comforting to know that the people who write our laws willfully break them.
