You washed wool in the washer? Does the care tag say 100% wool, Dryclean only???? Did you put it in the dryer?

put the sweater in a plastic bag..........then place it flat on a counter...place a piece of plain white paper over the sweater & sprinkle baking soda on the paper... close the plastic bag with out shifting the contents & leave over night...
next morning gently take the paper/bakingsoda out & put the sweater in the dryer on "fluff" no heat cycle for about 10 minutes..should do the trick.
you have to remember that real wool always has a light scent as it is a natural fiber.

Wash it on delicate cycle, using a non scented soap. That will remove the odor and not cover it up.
