we permit billionaires - unlimited fortunes - unlimited overpay - this causes unlimited underpay - which causes the violence [war and crime] which has escalated for 1000s of years to the present eve of extinction

what has bill gates done? - he has worked - not more than many - he has used his natural gifts - he deserves no credit, no reward for having these free gifts of nature - there is no reason to assume that his gifts are exceptional - and no reason to pay him for having received gifts from nature - he has studied, learned, read, thought - as have millions of others -

he has done nothing deserving of a superfortune - the superfortune came about for reasons nothing to do with him - new technology has built-in high demand, low supply - which allows price to be well above costs - costs of pc's may be as little as 1/4 or 10th of price

we allow him up to US$15 million AN HOUR - and thus extremely underpay other workers, generating extreme violence [war and crime] - madmadmad?

Modern convience and productivity wouldn't exist without compensating people. Bill Gates hasn't been compensated enough for organizing many of the most influencial pieces of software around the world. He got what he deserved.

His production wouldn't exist if he was simply being paid workers wages. He would have no reason to form the evil empire, making enemies and spending most of his adulthood working. He could have been an average programmer just doing enough to get by, with no real reason to optimize or have vision.

We "allow" him to earn that much because he's the one paying himself; it's his company.

If the U.S. were to give wage-caps on entrepeuners, then that would indicate a level of governmental involvement in capitalism that the U.S. has never had. It would be a socialist commerce rather than a capitalist one.

I don't think we're hero worshipping Bill Gates. We're just letting him do his thing. Perhaps he doesn't worked to deserve it, and maybe he just lucked out. But the majority of us prefer to focus on our own worth and luck before gripping about other people's.

This has gone on since the beginning of time so how do you feel changes need to be made. This is simply life in a conservative capitalist country.
