We talked to a realitor in the Bitterroot area and then talked to a college counselor about the industry in the area. Homes are reasonable but remote...I liked that part. But the industry is all IT~computer generated employment. I have no training or skills in that part. It is BEAUTIFUL there! Have you ever been there? We were looking at the St, Regis area along the Fork River. Isolation in the winter...when you get snowed in...you are IN! But Mother Nature wasted no expense on the beauty of NW Montana. Larger cities are at least 2 hours away...Spokane and Post Fall, ID. Think about your career and what the wilderness of MT has to offer. Good luck in your endevours, I'm jealous!

I lived in Missoula for college. The town is beautiful. There's lots of outdoor activity, hiking, biking, folfing (frisbee golf), kayaking, whitewater rafting, and really amazing fly fishing. There are some very cool famous authors living there and great brewpubs and bars. It's still small enough that you can even have a beer or whiskey with a famous writer. The winters aren't too terrible. Some big storms but Missoula sits in a bowl surrounded by mountains. The Lolo pass is gorgeous as is Rock creek and the Blackfoot river. The only drawback is the economy. Missoula has few jobs and what they do offer don't expect to get rich living there. You move to Missoula for the lifestyle not the success.

Missoula is a great town, lots of outdoor activities to do as well. The city is a university town, all the new trends, styles etc etc are their but there is also the feeling of a community. I have had many friends go their to school and they loved it. Most of them were people I would have never thought would like it there. There is a nice airport, shoping and aanything else you might like. I cannot speak for Pennsylvania but I would give you a go and Montana.

Pennsylvania is one of the prettiest and diverse states in the union aqnd you'd leave there to go to Montana which has nothing but wind, ice and cows.
