I'm so sick of having to where a mask in the house, becuase i can not be around dust. I have got dust free mattress, pillows, i have cleaned the house, cleaned the floors, and i take allegra and nasacort. at night i have a suffy nose, then in the morning i have post nasel drip that i deal with all day.. i have to clear my troat all the time, and i'm just sick of it.. i want to get the shots, but i want to know more about them.. does it work?? when will you feel some of the effect?? i hear 3 months your' start feeling somthing.. Dust is not seasonal, you can't get away from dust.. that's why i feel i need this shot, otherwise i will suffer 24/7... I did get a allergy test and thats what it said i was allergic too..help please

I am allergic to dust mites, also. Get rid of your Allegra. Allegra does NOT work for dust mites. Ask your doctor about prescribing Zyrtec in combination with your Nasacort. I take both of these to help control my severe allergies. Zyrtec is not just for seasonal allergies like Allegra, it is for both indoor and outdoor allergies. As for the shots, due to other health related issues I am not able to try those. However, my daughter is currently in the process of taking them, though it is still too early to tell if they are going to be effective. Whether you decide on allergy shots or not, do see an allergy specialist, as your symptoms seem to require it. I wish you the best of luck. I know the misery and heartache of severe allergies.

I took them as a child, and they definitely helped me. I did the throat clearing thing, and kids made fun of me a lot. Honestly, I'd say the shots helped more with the dust allergy than anything else. I still have seasonal allergies, but I'm okay with dust.
