...until the very moment that the computer tech you had to wait five days for finally shows up? And why does the problem immediately recur as soon as the tech leaves and you have to get back in the tech help line-up?

just between you and me and the rest of the world, buddy...

the most likely answer is user error.

you do something wrong, which causes the error to occur, and the tech, being a specialist, does it right, so the error vanishes. then when he has gone, you do it wrong again, and BANG...

of course, a GOOD tech would know the potential user errors that can produce a certain computer error, and tell you what you did wrong.

thats often does not happen for three reasons.

one, many comp techs are NOT good comp techs, so they dont know either...
two, many customers are too selfimportant to accept the possibility that they made a mistake and just dont believe it.
three, and most importantly, you are being ripped off. the tech writes you a bill, no matter what, and if the error does not occur while he is there, then he can hardly fix it, can he? and if you were in any position to realize that you have been ripped off, you wouldnt need a tech to solve your problems for you.
so why butcher the goose with the golden eggs?
