Especially if he loses one more game this season? Or should they give him a break and chalk it up to bad luck?

Coker should of been fired after letting the Canes get slaughter by the Tigers 40-3 in the Peach Bowl last year. Sure he led Miami to a national championship once but that was with the players that Butch Davis recruited(Miami coach before Coker). After the players that Davis recruited left, Miami hasn't done anything yet.

Coker is definitely on the hot seat. I hear the sports writers at the Miami Herald are trashing him big-time and for good reason.
You measure a coaches success for a long-term stable program by how the team is performing 4 or 5 years down the road from when the coach started. In this manner, you get a handle on how well he has done in recruiting players.
I think Miami has good players but it is now a notch below as compared to when Coker took over the reins. Also, he has not done a good job when it comes to discipline. Miami no longer has the swagger of old and they are not playing a 100% all of the time.
Therefore, unless Coker turns the season around in dramatic fashion I look for him to be gone at year's end.

I am a die-hard Canes fan and I think the only person that could control the team is a drill sergeant. Coker is a great coach but they need more than a coach now. They need a coach and a disciplinarian. They act more like a gang off the streets of Miami than a football team. Butch Davis not only was a great coach but he earned the players' respect and they showed that by their actions on and off the field. I know everything was not perfect during Davis' tenure in Miami but it was much better than it is now. I think they are out of control...but this is just my opinion.

He'll be gone at the end of the season if not before. The season is pretty much done at this point. Yes it's only been 3 games but they still have to play Virgina Tec, Georgia Tec and Boston College. I have a feeling it's going to get ugly before the year is done.

Almost losing to the Houston Cougars last weekend definitely means that his job is in jeopardy. He will lose his job this offseason, unless the Canes make a miraculous recovery and get to a BCS bowl and win, which is highly unlikely.

He should have a hot branding iron rammed unceremoniously in his nether regions for letting that program fall to pieces that way. He has to remember that the prestige of the program will no longer recruit for itself with so many good programs in that state.

I say keep Larry Choker. More chances for other teams to win.
